vocabulary

companion (n)伴侣
a person you spend a lot of time with either because you are friends or because you are travelling together
--The dog has been her constant companion these past ten years. 

sweat(v)汗
to pass a salty colourless liquid through the skin because you are hot, ill or frightened
--The prisoners were sweating with fear. 

insulting(adj)侮辱
rude or offensive
--You can't offer such a low salary to someone who is so highly skilled - it's insulting.

interrupted(v)中断
to stop a person from speaking for a short period by something you say or do, or to stop something from happening for a short period
--She tried to explain what had happened but he kept interrupting her.
  
disgrace(n)耻辱
embarrassment and the loss of other people's respect, or behaviour which causes this
--He brought disgrace on the whole team by falsifying the results. 

manner(n)举止
the way in which something is done
--She stared at me in an accusing manner.

hesitate(v)迟疑
to pause before you do or say something, often because you are uncertain or nervous about it
--She hesitated slightly before answering the inspector's question.
   
savagely(adv)野蛮
in a violent, cruel or very severe way

confused(adj)困惑
unable to think clearly or to understand something
--Grandfather gets quite confused sometimes, and doesn't even know what day it is. 

disgust(n)厌恶
a strong feeling of disapproval and dislike at a situation or person's behaviour, etc.
--We are demonstrating to show our anger and disgust at the treatment of refugees.
   
affair(n)事件
a situation or subject that is being dealt with or considered; a matter
--She organizes her financial affairs very efficiently.

impression

out of sight
she talk an awful lot, but talk doesn't hurt
he kept (keep) on working
wide awake

fast beating hearts
...stop shaking
hardly breathed
in another minute
ran on towards
they looked back over their shoulders from time to time
his aunt began (begin) to get worried about him
he turned sadly away
....nobody love him, no body would miss him
the night it poured with rain and there was a terrible storm.
the thunder roared and the lightning flashed for a long time.
wishing she hadn't been so nasty to tom
there were sound of people crying
everyone was in tears
....but without any luck
